Acclaimed composer A. R. Rahman composed the musical score. The soundtrack of the film turned into launched on 19 January 2008.

The movie gained the Audience Award for Best Foreign Language Film on the São Paulo International Film Festival, awards on the Golden Minbar International Film Festival, seven Star Screen Awards and 5 Filmfare Awards, similarly to two nominations at the 3rd Asian Film Awards
